Display Technologies Ltd. and Helioz Technologies have implemented the Helioz zipCPQ™ configure, price, quote solution on the Display Technologies website for its projector screens and mounts.
Display Technologies project journey started with separating the whole journey into sprints. After reviewing
Onshape shared documents and additional pricing documents, we have structured the project journey into three
main sprints.
As usually in our processes, sprint one started with the user interface and experience planning, where the
Helioz team primarily dealt with visual appeal, interactive elements, and the overall look and feel of a
portal in order to create the most efficient and effective portal, free from clutter, noise, and
distraction.
The interface contains a header with the search bar, cart, and login/register buttons, a Product Selector
section that guides end-users to select the product line relevant to their application, and a Product
Configurator section for end-users to configure a specific product from the chosen group. The user interface
is harmonized with the current Display Technologies brand identity so that the collection of all portal
elements portrays the right image to DT consumers.

The products included in this project were separated into two groups depending on their purposes; screen and
mounts. While developing UI & UX, the Helioz team started with the rules and logic preparation. Our job was
to develop rules and logic for the “pull-down” based configurator based upon input from the DT team. Rules
are navigating the end-user to pick only available and viable options.
Besides configurator rules, Helioz has also developed rules and logic for the product selector or
application search. The selector helps end-users identify the product line before configuring its remaining
details.
By implementing prepared rules and logic, sprint one was over, and all prepared features were tested in
detail, which enabled us to move forward to the next sprint.
The second sprint was separated into two main sections that needed to be done. One was pricing rules
creation and implementation, and the second was login/registration, my account, and cart preparation.
While some DT prices were SKU-based, the others had to be calculated out of different pricing formulas,
which needed to be prepared by the Helioz team and connected to the configurator. Users see different
prices
based on the country they choose in the registration form.
This way, DT distributors that are responsible for different countries can manage prices for those areas
defining them in zipCPQ. Prices are supervised by the company admin, who can access all the prices and
manage them. Depending on the users' location, a different currency is displayed ($, €, and £).

In the second sprint, the Helioz team developed a login/registration feature and a guest checkout. If the
user wants to request a quote for a specific screen and/or mount, he needs to log in or proceed as a guest.
These features are a powerful tool for shaping customer experiences because they enable users to create an
account and log in, equipping them with security and control over their information.
On the other hand, DT benefits from those features by getting the opportunity to follow up the registered
users or gain even more customers. For the users who are not interested in registration, Helioz implemented
a Guest Checkout form. This form allows a customer to request goods without registering or logging in to an
account. For many customers, this can be a necessary offering in order for them to feel comfortable with
making their purchase.
My Account feature contains a section for users' personal information with an option to edit them and a
section for requests tracking, giving users the option to check the status of their quotes anytime. All
registered customers are stored in zipCPQ, where the company admin can review them and make changes if
needed.
The final feature we worked on in the second sprint was My Cart but named My Project. This
feature has been
developed as part of the product configurator page, and it provides a simplified self-service method for
users to add particular product(s) to the cart/project. The user defines the wanted quantity for each
product and adds it to the cart.
Users can also add multiple products and get a project preview (checkout) where all added products are
listed. Once the RFQ button is clicked, an already registered user can log in to the system with the given
credentials and request a quote. An unregistered user needs to register or proceed as a guest.
An extra option inside of cart feature is a Client's project reference field that enables end-users to type
in specific information about their order and store it in their account under the specific request. This
reference can help them with their next purchases.
The final third sprint was arranged for Quote Management System setup, part number lookup implementation,
and, most important, CAD integration with Onshape.

The products included in this project were separated into two groups depending on their purposes; screen
and
mounts. While developing UI & UX, the Helioz team started with the rules and logic preparation. Our job
was
to develop rules and logic for the “pull-down” based configurator based upon input from the DT team.
Rules
are navigating the end-user to pick only available and viable options.
Besides configurator rules, Helioz has also developed rules and logic for the product selector or
application search. The selector helps end-users identify the product line before configuring its
remaining
details.
By implementing prepared rules and logic, sprint one was over, and all prepared features were tested in
detail, which enabled us to move forward to the next sprint.
The part number lookup feature lets users paste/type a part number of the specific configuration in a search
field and get a specific configuration with pre-configured options. That way, users can quickly return to
the previously configured product and make edits without spending more time on re-configuring.
After all three sprints had been finished and tested, the solution was implemented on a separate portal,
ensuring technology compatibility and ease of maintenance.
